Recently, Vishwas Mudagal caught up with a few entrepreneurs and a very pertinent question was raised – What’s the most important factor for entrepreneurs to take risks & succeed?’

Many aspects came up, but ultimately many 30+ year old entrepreneurs mentioned ‘marriage.’ I was surprised!
Although I knew what the underlying reason was, I probed further. ‘My wife is earning & I have the liberty to take financial risks. I started my company only because we could survive with my wife’s salary,’ said a senior entrepreneur.
Another woman entrepreneur said the same, her husband’s salary was enough to take care of EMIs+expenses. Because of this cushion, they could succeed faster in their business.
So, the catch here was not just ‘marriage,’ but being married to an ‘earning’ spouse! It makes perfect sense, contrary to the conventional notion that marriage creates personal commitments & hinders entrepreneurship, it’s now become a huge advantage because your working spouse can support you to kickstart your business.
Now, who’s your first angel investor? It’s your spouse!
