‘I dedicated all my time to this company & they surprised me by letting me go. The worst part is, I’m getting married next month. I don’t know how to deal with it.‘
I must admit, it’s very bad timing. I remember shutting down my company & being broke just before my wedding, so I know what you must be going through. But I did bounce back!
Because of that, I’m not going to tell you not to feel bad. You should feel bad & hurt. But mind you, it should trigger a reaction. A positive reaction to introspect, work on weaknesses & never repeat mistakes.
It must become the most defining moment of your life & not the most unfortunate. Most of us get fired in our careers for several reasons beyond our control.
How you bounce back matters rather than how miserable you feel. It’s a mental game, don’t let your mind panic. Focus on doing right things-apply for jobs, utilize your network & upgrade your skills. You will find a great job.
I utilize my most embarrassing moments (losing a job, being insulted, etc.) as my most powerful tools to fight back in life. They remind me not to be vulnerable again.
Don’t lose hope. Stand up & fight back. Because no one else is going to fight this battle for you.
Hope this career advice helped!
