If there is one aspect of your life you cannot escape, it is hard work. You can run and hide as much as you please, but nothing will bring you that sense of achievement, that realization of moving one step closer to your goals as much as hard work.
Here is how the CEO of GoodWorkLabs, Vishwas Mudagal, feels about it.
“‘Is hard work really important? Does it really pay?’ someone asked me on LinkedIn yesterday. My long & short answer for this question is YES. Hard work is really important & it eventually pays. However, SMART work is equally important. You cannot really emphasise on what is more important-hard work or smart work. They go hand-in-hand. People always complain they were not lucky enough to become successful. My theory is that if you work hard, inspite of all the odds & in the course don’t repeat your mistakes, you will force the universe to bring ‘luck’ your way. The universe conspires to make you successful if you believe that ‘YOU are the maker of your own destiny.’ You might be a super smart person, but if you are lazy, it’s of no use. So, hard work is the only way to achieve anything of significance in life. On the other hand, if you enjoy your work, it won’t be called hard work, isn’t it? It will be called ‘fun work.’ And, when it’s fun to work, you will continue to tread a long path inspite of the ups & downs. Whatever said & done, nothing comes easy in life. Perseverance & hardwork are key. In the end, true grit will pave the way for glory.”
What do you think? Has ‘hard work’ really worked for you? Or do you believe only in ‘smart work’?
